Cupping therapy is one of the oldest and most globally practiced medical treatments in human history. The technique that I use is also called “negative pressure massage”. This uses suction to help break up adhesions, stretch tight muscles and fascia, flush out toxins and bring new blood into the area. With the client’s permission, I love to incorporate this into a massage. By using “pulling” along with the traditional “pushing” in a massage session, healing is brought to a whole new level. You typically see results faster and clients report feeling better for longer periods of time.
This technique is also beneficial for the face. Delicate facial cups are used to lift, work fine lines, flush toxins and encourage circulation. This is great for promoting a glowing complexion and clearing acne. When targeting areas of congestion and incorporating lymphatic work, facial cupping is extremely effective for releasing pressure and draining the sinuses.
